Yesterday I felt the pain of lugging an overloaded 5 gallon bucket a few miles along the beach. Today I felt the pain of cutting about 150 slabs on the tile saw (half my bucket). Now I feel the joy in sharing a photos of my finds. Thanks to this site, I have learned to recognize agate in the rough. It's usually the ugliest rock around, until you cut into it, of course. No. 1 - Agatized Jasper No. 2 - Really Red Jasper No. 3 - Plume Agate with some green copper inclusions No. 4 - Green and Pink Moss Agate No. 5 - Moss Agate No. 6 - Moss Agate No. 7 - 3 distinct Agates layered into one rock No. 8 - 2 distinct layers - Agatized Jasper and Pink Moss No. 9 - Fire Agate pattern - wrong color (unknown Agate) No. 10 - Red and Blue Brecciated Jasper If I haven't lost you yet, I need HELP with my digital photography. As you have probably noticed, what should be white is yellow. I am using a home made light box (courtesy of RTH) illuminated with 250W halogen through the side shining through a diffuser. I am also using a tripod, macro zoom mode, no flash, and photographing wet samples. I'm not sure if my problem is with my light, or my camera setup. Any suggestions? 150FromFundy

those are all really nice....as for the photos ..you have a good set-up. try it with the flash on...and if it glares too much try to diffuse the flash....John

Set your white balance to incandescent. Halogen is a very yellow light source.
Flash is white, so that will also work.

As Chuck said its your white balance. I keep mine set to automatic and it seems to do fine no matter what the light.

Imagining these with white instead of yellow still looks great! I think you sure hauled back a beautiful batch! Fran

A black or white background would make a big difference, too.
