not so much soft, but brittle and delicate, and it's mixed, some agate and some opal, so it undercuts a bit...

That is very nice looking wood! I've only had experience tumbling the Gabbs, Nevada stuff and it''s nice enough but much more fractured than your material. That's one fine shine you got on it too. The Gabbs stuff frequently is a bit difficult to get to a mirror finish....Mel

me too, it's always interesting to see how the different woods turn out, and we have just as much wood here in Wyoming as we do agates, so it's a frequent addition to my tumbling pile...
