Well, I finally got that little room cleaned out and my husband made a work table for me and set up the grinder. All I need to do is set up the water feed, finish up the room a little, replace a couple of wheels and I'm good to go. But........ I have the itchin to work this beauty. so I grabbed a spray bottle full of water and with one hand I worked the stone and the other hand I sprayed. ;D These are the first. The one on the right is from a box that Michaeljohn sent me a while ago. The other two are beach stones. My daughter wanted to make a car so she did the one at the top while I sprayed for her. The stones are only polished up to 1500 so they aren't done. A few days later, I got the itching again even though the water system still isn't in. I knew I wanted to make Jo something before she went out on the road so I made and set a Serpentene cab (from a box of rocks she recently sent me) I was in a hurry to get the bracelet done and mailed that I forgot to take a pic of the cab by itself. I know the room isn't done and I need some stuff but this has been a long time in coming and I am really excited about it. I just wanted to share it with all of you. Thanks for looking

Now that is what I call determination to polish rocks. You did a great job cabbin even while spraying with the other hand. Word of caution, make sure you don't in-bed material into the diamond wheels, other wise have fun.

Fran, I had first sent her a pic of what I was sending before posting it. I wish I had taken a pic of just the Serpentene cab cause I put a half way decent girdle on it for a one handed job. lol

Amber, thanks for your vote of confidence and your support and motivation that you gave me while I was cleaning that room. You are an awesome friend and you know that the first really good cab is going to have your name on it all wrapped up and pretty

nice setup, why dont you use a 5 gallon bucket with a small hose/tube sitting on top of the machine to drip on your wheel till you get the water hooked up

I recently received the bucket and hose and the nozzel set up from the previous owner, but it is gravity fed so a shelf has to be built above the cabber to put the bucket on.

You sure have the bracelet making down, this one is really beautiful, and made with obvious love.
If the wall is not going to be finished behind the cabber, you (or hubby) could very easily put shelves in between the studs using 1 X 4s with short pieces of 1 X 4s on each side as supports. If you nailed the shelf piece to the the 'legs' first it would be then easy to nail that assembly to the studs. Woody

That's a sweet looking machine Lori. You did those cabs one handed! Who do you think you are Bejewelme? lol She cabs one handed at times, I can't imagine doing that. Can't wait to see what you do once you use both appendages. lol Your daughter did a good job on her car.

Yay!!! That's a great looking machine, and I'm so happy you got your space cleaned out a bit! Those first cabs look great, especially considering you were doing them one-handed...that's HARD!

Lori, congrats on your set-up! I know how excited you are and I'm completely honored that you are sharing your joy with us. You totally uncovered the natural beauty of that stone and I'm incredibly blown away by what you did for me. I'm deeply touched. Thank you! Jo
