Looks like classic Fallon, NV Wonderstone. I had some nodules from Mexico with same colors but tighter, smaller patterns. The Fallon stuff is the state rock. Pretty stuff but pattern is so large it is better for belt buckles, clocks and bookends then cabs. Pretty neat rhyolite. Really hard work (hard rock mining) collecting it and I'm not sure area is still open. Former owner was the rock shop owner that died a few years ago. When I was there he told us to collect as much as we wanted because it was being sold to a landscape gravel company that was going to blast and grind it up. A friend went back the next year and deposit was still there. This was ten years ago.

Ok, here is an idea. If anyone on the board hears of a possible distruction of a deposit like that, let the rest of us know if there is a possability to go collect. Just a thought ;D

That pattern is really freaking me out! Is that really just 3 big slabs? It looks like 3 very wavy pieces of rock! I cannot convince my eyes/brain that they are flat! Funny, huh?!

It does make you feel it is wavy. Kind of looks like a magic carpet ride! Fran

Are those straight fracture lines? They're wild. Looks like the silica gel went through an earthquake before it completely solidified.
Cool stuff! It is rather trippy...
