Hi,
I slabed and shaped some labradorite today, this is the first time I have worked with this rock and I think I need to understand the best way to cut this material.
What I have realised is that a pendant will always hang in the vertical, but some of the slabs I have cut dont show the schiller in the vertical, you have to lay the slab horizontal to see the effect.
I would like to ask is there some technique for deciding the best way to slab a lump of this stuff so that the schiller is seen in the vertical.
Cheers
Dave

Hi All, well its taken longer than I though but have finally got some decent cabs out of the Labradorite that I had initially cut when I first started this thread, too be honest I am thrilled with the outcome as this is my first attempt with Labradorite and I am hooked. I have learnt a lot while making this little lot, mainly dont be discouraged when you you initially inspect your slabs after cutting them, persevere through to the end. I have made a blog post and put pics at www.roughrocks.co.uk/?p=178Cheers to you all Dave
