I’m about halfway through slicing my Cape Sharp haul from Friday. The size of these is pushing the limits of my wet tile saw. You can see some blade scratches where I had difficulty rotating through the cuts on some of the more irregular pieces. I’m pleased with my finds even at this stage. Some of these should finish nicely. The photos are getting a little better thanks to RTH member input. I’m still wrestling with uneven light, and the wrong kind of light. Some of the lighter material is overexposing because of reflection of the wet edges. Here’s a few of my more interesting finds. 1 - Highly Brecciated Rock – Looks like Feldspar 2 – Neon Agate – I know it’s overexposed. I swear this one glows from within. 3 – Sea Foam and Peach – I love the color. This is from a copper-rich area and the copper oxides appear in many of the rocks. I want to preserve the natural agate rind, but don’t know how to yet. 4 – Solar Flare – Wish I knew what this one was. Unfortunately, I think it’s going to be soft. 5 – Busy Agate 6 – Blue Agate 7 – Blue Agate with Orange and Green Rind - Unfortunately it's pitted. 8 – Brecciated Granite – More of those green copper oxides filled the cracks. 9 - Granite Like 10 – Cosmic Blast – Cool rock, but I fear the orange and white are zeolites, which will make them very soft. If anyone can help in the naming (the real names that is), please let me know. 150FromFundy
