I have some Mexican opal to cab up and I am wondering what would be best to use for dopping? I usualy use super glue, then heat the stick to get it loose but I am not sure if that will hurt opal. Any suggestions?

I use "household goop" and a metal peg or a nail...opal pops right off when you heat the metal and it doesn't crack the opal...

I use super glue on my koroits. Usually I just hold the stone in one hand, tight to the bottom of the nail, and put torque on the top of the nail to pop it off. But if it is thin or seems delicate I'll take a utility knife and put the blade behind the nail head and put pressure on it to pop it off. T
