Hi everyone. Just thought I should introduce myself:
I am from West Texas and very new to the rock world.
My brother invited me last year to help him collect stones from several sites in western Arizona owned by his friend.
I helped them collect significant amounts of chrysocolla, turquoise, azurite, malachite, and who knows what else. Some of the stones have the most amazing matrix of colors I have ever seen.
Being up in the mountains and seeing the vast amounts of beautiful rocks opened up my eyes to the beauty that is mother earth. I took some stones home and bought an "el cheapo" tumbler at harbor tools: the results just got me hooked.
Tumbling rocks transforms seemingly interesting rocks and pebbles into gifts from Mother Earth.
After seeing the beautiful colors JUMP OUT at me from simple rocks is just too beautiful a feeling to describe in words.
I now feel that this new hobby might just lead to a new direction in my life.
I recently purchased an Inland 8" all-in-wonder and an Inland DB-100 Band Saw and have started to make carbochons and the results never cease to amaze me.

Welcome to a site that covers a vast range of interests with rock being the common denomiator that connects us all.
I think of rock as the artist's pallette of Mother Earth. She had to use rock because they didn't have watercolours, oils, canvas and brushed 200 million years ago.
Welcome!
