Hi All:
Planning a trip to SW part of South Dakota for July/August. Will be there about 7 to 10 days.
Any thing I should not miss?
Collecting areas to hit?

Some areas are legal fossil hunting areas in that SW place.Can find invertabrate fossils as Scaphite's,baculites,ammonite's...........Some great rock and fossil museums in that area too.........Good luck and have fun......

Take water and stay out of the gumbo after a rain!
I didn't have much luck with Tepee Canyon last Fall, but you might do better. I had my best luck in the Badlands area, except for Conata (it's really picked over). You might also try Railroad Buttes if you have 4WD.

Gumbo-oh my god yes!!!! That stuff is in central Montana too and is wicked after a rain.........
