I've slowed down on my cabbing, partially due to time constraints, partially due to sloppy work. I get in a rush to finish all the cabs waiting that I miss things - scratches, flats, uneven bezels. Anyway, I have to slow down and concentrate again about once a year, making sure everything is exactly how I want it before moving on. It results in many fewer cabs, though! Anyway, I cleaned out my backup above my grinder, pushing all those through so I could start with a clean slate. Here's the two that I've been working on for the past week. Willow Creek - I've decided Willow Creek has to be one of my all time favorite materials. I've never had a bad piece. (This is a freeform, not a distorted oval/egg) Chrysocolla - I've been cutting on a box I received from Jamie many, many moons ago (maybe 2 years?). This is probably my favorite piece I've sliced so far. It was little, but it definitely has power!

That is a really stunning Willow Creek. I can relate with you about the rushing. It's easy to do esp. with a whole bunch of cabs to get done.

I'm guilty of rushing more than a few cabs through the process. I really like that Willow Creek and the dark green in the Chrysocolla is sensational. I change my mind on my favorite stones every time I cab one that just blows me away. I do that quite a bit actually!! Steve

Those are great! I think they both have power. I know what you mean about the process. As time goes by I keep going back to old cabs to try to make them better. I think as I progress I keep seeing things in a different light. Stuff that looked great 6 months ago I start picking at now. Heck, I have cabs I've cabbed 3 times, lol. T

Well you are talking to the queen of haste, and I know they are so much better when I slow down, and it looks like you have some beauties! The Willow Creek is awesome, I love the variety of colors in that, and the chyrsacolla is very cool!! Your work always looks flawless.

Yeah, I think most of us are guilty of rushing it. I know I am and it's kinda dumb really because we just have to go back and do it over which takes even more time. Great job on those Ronda! That Willow Creek is my favorite. Curt

Wowsers two stunning cabs. The more I cab the more time I take on each one. I've seen the results in a greatly improved shine.

very nice cabs, 2 great designs for the style and color of rock. My worst hing is I keep changing my mind about what shape I want it, I`ll walk away from my saw 5 times at least on one slab.

Wow, thatWillow Creek is awesome! Love the Chrys. too.
I tell myself all the time to slow down and take my time. But sometimes I just want to hurry, hurry!

These are gorgeous. Willow Creek is at the top of my Favorites also. I love the soft pastels and the shape you gave it and the polish and depth you gave to that Chrysy is just wonderful.

Beautiful!!!! I agree, Willow Creek is such nice material to work. No surprises with that stuff. I love the scene you've got in the WC, and the color on the other is absolutely phenomenal!

I love that Willow Creek. I have a chunk of Willow Creek that Tony sent me some time ago. The rock was so nice I put it up on a shelf for display in the house. I pick it up and look at it once in awhile. Someday it will make it too the slab saw.
