Hi, everyone! Now that I've settled down with the trees, I made two pendants for my "girls". Both Ioana's birthday and our (Ina and me) wedding anniversary are about to come in a few days, so I thought I'd make some special pendant for each of them. I made two butterflies. Groove wrapped, of course Here is Ioana's butterfly. The body is from blue Pietersite from Tony Catmandewe (Thank you again Tony!) and the wings are African Blue Lace. And here's Ina's butterfly. The body is Tiger Eye and the wings are some cool unknown rock from the Christmas exchange from Keith - kap. Thanks again Keith, you were a great Santa I'm pretty sure you noticed the swirl at the bottom of the left wing, as well as its purpose: it's hiding an accident that occurred right when I was about to say "ready, done!" with this butterfly: I was about to finish the polish of the silver wire with my Dremmel and the mandrel hit the wing! #^*&! The point of the wing cracked and flew away to nowhere! I didn't have the power to put it aside, I tried to hide the crack with that swirl which is glued on the back of the wing. Ina still says she likes it a lot, she must be a very loving wife if she says so, doesn't she? The overall span of the wings of each of those butterflies is 60 mm. Here's a pic of both of them. Thank you for looking, Adrian

Oh Adrian!! These are incredible, what awesome special gifts, the blue pietersite is extraordinary, the other is that wonderstone? What is the body? I like the swirl, maybe put a match on the other side? It is so beautiful I didn't even notice it at first!
Lucky, Lucky girls you have!!!

Great idea you gave me Amber, a match would look great and hide the crack even more. Thank you! I updated the first post about the stones ID. Adrian PS. Thank you Susan, you make me blush like the Sun in your avatar

Those butterflies are stunning. I can see why Ina loves that one. I would not have know the swirly was to fix a chip. That swirly on one wing would be a great personal signature sign.

Wow Adrian - you're really cut out (made) for this stuff! Between creating your own machines (polishers and such) to coming up with new ways of doing things (groove wrapping rocks!) to the creative process of creating FANTASTIC pieces (I'm still catching up on pictures but didn't I see some really cool intarsia pieces you did?!?)...your wife and daughter must always wonder what you will come up with next! These are beautiful - I never would have known the swirl was to cover up a flaw and can't imagine that Ina wouldn't absolutely love it. I love how you have an idea and you make it happen - your projects always make me smile!

I think they are both beautiful! I liked the swirl, even before I read what you had written and I have to agree with Amber, match it on the other side and it is complete. Fran
