A while back, Mel posted a photograph of a bola tie he made using the base of a deer antler, and an agate. I really liked the idea, so having antlers on hand, I made a high dome carnelian cab sized to fit the antler base I choose from the pile. Mel used antler tips for the string ends whilst I used silver, which I may change to antler tips. Woody My rendition of Mels idea.

Great looking bola Woody! The silver tips look nice and set off the antler and carnelian. The carnelian pattern is great.

Wow! You did a great job. Fine looking cab and a really nice horn crown too. I think I like the silver cord tips better than the antler ones. I keep finding shed horns here on the ranch but so far the crowns are all too small. These are itty bitty deer compared to the ones we had at our California ranch. I want to make another of those bolas with a poppy jasper center......Mel
