Julie:
'Bog' is petrified wood, either agatized, or opalized, that is a collection of plant material such as would be found in a log, or debris dam. Whereas 'log' sectioned petrified wood is a single piece that has been petrified by being buried, the bog is a big pile of material that may have leaves, seeds, cones, sticks, branches, and etc, petrified into one big piece. Each slab one gets off a piece of bog may reveil something different. BTW, your piece is opalized. If you have a magnifier, have a close look for seeds, and other wee things. Woody

Is the slab with "50 different things going on inside" from me? It looks like my Devil's Hole Jasper.

Woody .... thanks for the additional details on this ... Very Cool!! When I got this (if I remember from you) I did not realize that it was much more cool on the inside.
I am going to look at it tonight ... have a magnifying glass on my desk at all times.
MichaelJohn ... very possible I got this from you ... I will try to clean it up more - it too has an oily stinky to it ... and will post better pics.
StonesThatRock ... Oh Ya!! If I had my own saw ... what is the motto on the RTH t-shirts ... "no rock is safe" HAHAHAHAH
