Hi! I'm totally new to this hobby and just got a UV-10. I'll be spending a few days on the west coast of Vancouver Island up in British Columbia, at Tofino. That's either in the Pacific Rim Nat'l Park or right by it. I'll be walking along the ocean a lot and maybe this is a stupid question, but wonder if anyone knows if that area is known for any particular type of rock that would be good to tumble. Of course I'll pick up anything that looks interesting, but just thought someone might know, or might know a site that I could check. Thanks! Anita

Thanks! I'll be spending alot of time walking along the water and will pick up whatever looks interesting to me. I won't do it right in the National Park but just along the coast. People seem to go there in the winter just to watch the storms and the surf pounding so I hope I see some more unusual rocks. As I said, I'm just a beginner and love to see how they turn out after tumbling, and then to imagine all the years they took to get that way. I used to go to Flathead Lake every summer in Montana and collect rocks from the lake, imagining what they might look like after tumbling. It's just very awesome to me - all that history in those rocks! Anita
