Those are YUMMY! The only carnelian that I have done was very rough and was in the 60-90 for 12 weeks and then still had pits. You have some great stuff here! Fran

Way redder than my amber colored ones from Brazil. Very nice! How are they for translucency with a backlight?

NSR: I tumbled those rocks using two different barrels. One is a 15lb Thumler's Tumbler and the other is a 12lb Thumler's Tumbler. The 15lb is metal (rubbler lined) while the 12lb is all rubber. I do have a 40lb metal (rubber lined) barrel this is currently full of Woodward Ranch agates. They all are tumbled simultaneously in my Chadmanian rock tumbling machine.

Hey Condor -- those reds are just amazing. Never heard of madagascar carnelian before...quick question, did you leave the batch in 60/90 for 5 weeks straight or did you recharge every 10 days or so?

Hi Ozzy,
Yup. I left them in 60/90 for five weeks straight without recharging at all. Being that they are river rocks, they were already rounded. What I like is that I save a few bucks by skipping stage two. I have some others that are in their third week. After the 5th, I'm going to go straight to polish and see what happens.

Thanks for the tip. Are these hard to come by? I really love reddish carnelians...how much do these go for?
