I went to Michael's craft store a few weeks ago in search of something to display my cabs. The Ryker mount boxes are ok, but they are a pain to take the lids on and off and I enjoy looking at the cabs, so here is what I found. This one is 8x10 and has the cotton mounting that will hold a cab up to 1/2" thick, I have Gary's intarsia cabs, an HPD deschuttes cab and Bobby1 Montana in here! I like that the door is hinged so you can easily open and close them to add more. I am putting cabs I can't wear in here. Don't want to mess these up with glue on bails. And I can move it around, the dining room, living room, etc. Whereever I am, beautiful cabs can follow!! Then I found these shadow boxes that have a velcro backgound, so I got velcro dots to affix the cabs. I got this one for Tony and he has his first one filled. I like wearing all the cabs people make so I think it will take awhile to fill mine with ones I make to just display! He was able to fit 85 cabs in here and now he can hang this up as art work. This one you have to take the back off to get in to, so it is best to fill at one time or add weekly. The best was that they were on sale for 40% off, so they cost $10, and $15, much cheaper than the Ryker boxes. Hope this helps someone with ideas for storage and display! Amber

Very nice. I use the shadow boxes too and hang them on the wall. I have a track light that points at them.

Aww and here I thought it was your original idea. lol Just kidding, I guess great minds think alike, yours and HPD that is. I love it and have already bought a second one to start filling up. I have to slow down with my cabbing or there wont be any room left on my walls in a year or two. Thanks for the great idea sugar.

Wow velcro dots, that's a cool way to make the cabs stick to the frame without dropping. I've tried the cotton and sometimes cabs tend to settle as the cotton gets old. Really neat idea for displaying your artwork......Mel

Nice and very reasonably priced too. *wonders if the Michaels here has any?* I have coupons if they are not on sale.

very nice idea, i use the velco in the ryker boxes with the velco dot on the back. works great when we do the shows. The velco sticks to the felt lined boxes very nicely.
