Hi folks,
I have been mostly lurking lately, but I thought I would share my pics from the Santa Clara Valley Gem Show last weekend. Luckily for me and you, my picture taking was better than normal. This year, the SC Valley club hosted the CFMS show, so the show was about twice as big as normal! I went with my family and a troop of my daughter's Brownies. The Brownies earned a badge while at the rock show.
The first pick is a "Pebble" of Morgan Hill Poppy jasper, a rough estimate of the size is 2 feet by 2 feet by 1.5 feet. By the way, I saw Stoner pawing through bins of San Martin poppy jasper - San Martin is next to Morgan Hill
The next pic was labeled as Agate, Montana agate, but it looks more like a dryhead agate to me:
This is a pic of gold in the shape of a grizzly bear (if you squint really hard, it sort of looks like a bear).
A map of the United States. Each state appears to be made of a native stone:
There were many fabulous polished slabs of pet wood:
This slab of Pet Wood, maybe Palm Wood, looks like a Picasso painting, but I am not sure of what.
Here is a lamp shade made from Agate Cabochons. The lamp shade must have been made by a local club member because I have seen it at many SC Valley shows. The lampshade also revolves.
Some Rhodonite:
A chyrsoprase necklace:

Rhodochrosite:
A apophyllite:
Montana Agate cabs:
A huge Bruneau Jasper cab/bolo tie.
Finally, I was afraid that I was going to miss Bobby's display trying to keep up with the Brownies. Fortunately, the girls stopped to watch a video. And, across from video were some displays that I had not seen, of which one was Bobby's. So, I'll end my tour with pics of Bobby's display.
Most of Bobby's Display:
The Chalice.
A huge Guadalupe poppy jasper cab:
Enjoy!
