To be honest I don't even know why I offered my apologies.
No one was named in the speech. I guess it was just an extreme case of if the cap fits wear it. Never a better fit admitted either really.
I have nothing to worry about. I shall sleep soundly, knowing that I have done no wrong.

So Rogue I read your speech and I'm wondering why you think this is a popularity contest rather than a vote for the best name. I have a name up there too and only have 3 votes (none mine) but you don't see me complaining. Is my name the best? I don't know but by your thinking I must be very unpopular on the board. I am the one who made your leaves and never received even a simple thank you but I really don't care about any of that. I was glad I could help Adrian with what I though was such a worthy project and will be happy no matter who wins. Thank you Adrian.

Aren't all elections a popularity contest?
Where did you see me complaining?
You read all of it? So you noticed the name calling then?
I asked Amber, and so I will ask you the same. Point out the mentioning of anyones name.
As it so happens you had better check with Amber, and read her PM's to get your thank you message (for the leaves.) I never realised that when I posted a PM to Amber I was to include you also.

OK Maybe complaining is the correct word. Accusation might be a better word. Accusing people of voting for the person rather than the name. To be honest I didn't vote for your name only because we made leaves rather than branches. My decision, it was Mine after all. Had I chosen to give my votes to who I liked best it still wouldn't matter because it was MY decision.
I realize that we don't speak the same language and that the english sense of humor is a bit foreign, Monty Python excluded. However, I didin't get that you post was supposed to be a joke. My apologies.
More importantly I want to apologize to Adrian for bringing any of this into such a wonderful and giving gesture. I've been getting very stressed out about this site lately and think I need to take a long break from it.

I'm still waiting for indication of where names were named. If I had put 'Horses for courses' would that point to someone? Or 'more fish in the ocean.'

I'm way too polite to tell you what I really want to say but you've convinced me that I should quit the site. Thanks for the help.

At the risk of becoming wounded by crossfire, can I please just state that it took almost 3 months [getting through customs] for Rogue's prize for the "Guess the Number" contest to arrive to me in PA. I'd just feel better if everyone took a minute to relax and breathe here... please?

I'm way too polite to tell you what I really want to say but you've convinced me that I should quit the site. Thanks for the help. You need not be polite to me. I don't think you are likely to use any words I haven't wanted to say myself You are more than welcome for the help in your decision making. I'm pleased to have been of assistance I like wise, am far too polite also, to say what I want. Jo, thanks for your pointing out the delay in getting your parcel. It's appreciated.

Rogue, I do not want Tony to quit the site and although I know you were just being your silly self and having an innocent go at fun here, I think you should behave yourself right now. No one was trying to offend anyone here and it has been a big misunderstanding.

I am behaving myself.
I wasn't the one, then two, to come on here and start throwing accusations around.

Come on, folks! Keep the fair play flag up PLEASE! It's pitty for this contest to end up in a fight!
No-one has to withdraw from the contest and i'd hate that this contest to be the reason for some members to stop posting on this board.
This is not in the spirit of those trees, I really like to think they simbolize friendship and unity on this board, and you can see most of the names we chose have something to do with these notions. Let's keep it like that.

The last leaves arrived today! Right in the day when the contest ends, how cool is that! There are the leaves from Karen (karenfh). She sent many of them and I think I'm gonna chose about ten of them (the groovable ones) to hang them in the trees.

The trees are READY! ALL the leaves are wrapped in them, the extra wires are trimmed, I think I figured out how to build a secure case for the traveling tree. Adrian

Looking good Adrian!! The trees are beautiful!
I'm curious as to what you used for the bases?

Dan, both of the bases are a local rock. It is banded and it's pretty soft but still takes a good polish. It's called "carbonatic onyx" as far as I know.
