Here are some pictures of a wrap that would have been very pretty. I used copper and then twisted a piece of the bronze colored copper for the center strand and I even got a makeshift bail done. I then went to pull out the holding wires, pulled too hard and tore two of the wires and damned if I know how .... displaced two of the bindings!!

looks like two of your wires switched places - you might be able to put them back in place

I get into slumps. A week or so ago I broke two cabs while wrapping them. That is a rarity for me so two in one week was really bad. I can't tell you how many frames I've had to scrap. So you are not alone If you can't salvage the frame, hang onto the wire as you will probably find a use for it at some point.

I'm in a slump right now. I've done two wire wraps in the last three weeks. I might be in the "burn-out" mode, I don't even like the think about wire right now. Next week I'll be back in business (new customer). ;D

Or they'll ask you to rewire the space shuttle and in that case you'll still be working with wire...

Thanks guys!!
It never occurred to me (BIG DUH) to save the wire for scrap or little things to repair.

I was going to say something like .... if I made the numbers of cabs or wraps that Randy does in any one sitting....
I would be seeing cross eyed for a week.
Geesh Randy ... Maybe we should just have ourselves a posting competition to take a break from the wrapping ... ;D

I've been to lazy to even do that. I'm back into construction again after being layed off in November. The break was sweet but now I gotta get back into shape again.

I go through stages. I'll wrap three or four a night for a couple days...and then nothing. Nada.
Julie - do you always wrap the binding before setting the stone?

Hi Kids!
I do not wrap the binding before setting the stone.
I have to make sure that the stone is a snug fit (I will have the stone in the wires and try to start the binding). I then try to continue the binding and then I pull out or try to on the holding wires.
Dependent on the stone ... most of the time ... once I get the fit I want, I take the stone out so I do not scratch it while the wires sort of move
I am still having a great deal of trouble getting the two sides to stay together straight to be able to start the binding. Having the stone in helps a little.

I remembered your post from before about bail trouble, and I was going to suggest wrapping the bail with the stone in place. It's a whole lot easier.

I haven't wrapped a cab all year!!!!! That my dears is a slump! lol Course, I've been at this for....oh...7 years? I forget in my old age. lol Still, it has been the longest running hobby I've ever had. Nope, next to the longest, as I did decorative painting on old wood and metal for around 12 years. Still, I do have an ongoing design book that I doodle in here and there. Hopefully, I will get back to wire jewelry.
