Hi, I have an AR-6 Thumler Tumbler, I was using it to clean brass, I'm now trying to use it for rocks, I can't seem to get it to seal, It leak's the water out, Is there anything I can do to get it to seal? What's the trick? Mike :help:

You need to make sure the inside lip of the barrel is COMPLETELY clean, and that the lid is seated all the way down tight before the o-ring goes over it.
But cleaning the thing is key, because of the hard lid, just the slightest particle of grit or stone will allow water to pour through.
This is one area where the Lortone lids are a little more forgiving and easier to work with than the Thumblers.

I have used Thumler's Tumblers for several years and this is my take: Get another lid and another band to create a tighter seal. Also, instead of using those rubber bands that seal the lid tightly, go with a worm gear clamp. Those work much, much better than the bands.
Hope this helps,

Thank's Guys, That was my next step, to order a new lid and ring. I may go with the worm gear band, I also was considering using silicon grease on the lid, Maybe I'll skip that method. I have cleaned the inner lip seal over and over, Didn't help. Where would be the best place to aquire a worm gear band of this size? Mike

You should be able to pick up a worm gear clamp that size at any farm store. I would imagine any home store like Home Depot, or your local hardware store should have them too. Good luck.
