Some of you may remember Forest from the tumbles that he has posted: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=trtphoto&action=display&thread=29047Well, today Forest decided that he really wanted to sell some of the rock he has been collecting. I'm not sure why. I think he is just into the idea that he can create an eBay account and then sell stuff and get money for it. Here is his listing: eBay Item: 270383726438 The rocks certainly aren't anything special. They are the same type that is posted on the above thread. You can see from the photos in that thread that they will tumble up nicely. Some are "raw" and some are cut up with my WF tile saw. The big problem? The $10.35 for the flat-rate shipping! I imagine that someone might be willing to buy the rocks for the starting bid ($0.98 - not sure why he chose that number!), but to shell out at least $11 including shipping - oof! Well, there you go. I think it's kind of fun (albeit fun that is destined for failure in the end!). Thanks for reading. :-)

What fun! Both of my kids are still into rocks! My 12 y/o daughter has done her science fair projects the last two years on something to do with rocks. If Forest's listing doesn't do any good, maybe you could suggest a trade with kids from other parts of the country (use the smallest FRB) to get a variety. Just a thought! Susan2 I have quite a bit of the quartzite in my yard. It seems to be a pretty popular landscaping rock in S. Florida.

That's a great idea, Susan! A kid cross-country rock swap. Drop me a PM if you'd care to set something up with Forest.
And, BTW, StonesThatRock actually bid on Forest's lot! I don't know whether to be grateful or worried. :-)

Oh, yes, he was quite psyched. He is still trying to figure the whole thing out. ("Why did they bid 98 cents?" "Because that's what you told them!").
But now ... look out ... StonesThatRock has been OUTBID!!! That's right! RogueTrader has stepped up to forever claim his place in a little boy's heart. :-)
