I just had to pop off a cab from the picture stone found on the Skokomish River this last Thursday. It is only about the hardness of turquoise, and as you can see did not take a good polish, but it did work up fast. When I can find my Zam, I will try to repolish it. Woody

That rock (rough) really looked weird - like a river-tumbled burl, shaped like a skull. I'm somewhat surprised you can't see the Deschutes jasper effect that was showing on the surface of the rough piece. I worked on the 7-layered piece I picked up at this site for about an hour but I couldn't get a good polish on it either. It's now in the garden. Garry
