Looking good so far! I'll be interested to see how the African Queen comes out as I've always had a rough time getting a good polish in the tumbler.......Mel

Porky ...
It is really funny you would ask about my opinion on taking pictures.
I just got my camera about 6 months ago and it has not been until the past 2-3 months that I have really gotten decent pics.
I have a Sony Cybershot. I use the Macro feature (always) and if at all possible, I use the camera's auto settings.
What I will do, maybe tonight, is I will look at what settings I use the most as I feel they are the best and then I will post my settings. Maybe it can help others.
Mind you ... I am still learning as well.

I was also noticing (seems a lot of people like them this way) that quite a few like all (most of) of their stones as round as is possible.
Personally, when it comes to the ones that have amazing innards ... I love them NOT rounded as to me it takes away from the stone.
But ... those of you that round yours as much as possible ... you have maintained what I call the personality of each stone. They are gorgeous!!!
Maybe it is just that I cannot do them rounded as well. Who knows.
Thank goodness everyone is different. I think it would be boring if not.

I decided to looking around a bit to see if I could find information on this "African Queen". Oh my goodness ... apparently it is a Picture Jasper and is mined/located in South African.
Now ... if I am reading/seeing this right ... the rocks in question are in slides 7, 8, 9, 12, and 13. Correct??

Julie, you've got some nice agate in this batch as well as jaspers. The only "African Queen" I heard of was the movie starring Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. The African Queen was a boat in that movie picture. Maybe that is why they call it "picture" jasper - Garry
