I do it in the basement of my apartment. I'm lucky to have found an apartment in an old house and the basement is all mine. I've got four rooms. One for tumbling, one for cabbing, one for woodturning and one for storage.

I live in a less than 700 sq foot house and tumble on top of my washing machine.

I tumble in the corner of my basement, near the circuit breakers. I keep all my various rock stuff on a nearby shelving unit. I go through the storm door into the back yard to rinse, sort, etc.

The unfinished basement is my world of rock. Hundreds of pounds of rough, 10 bins of slabs, one wet tile saw, and one A-R2 that can't keep up to my ambition.

My garage is my shop. It's constantly humming with activity. When people visit they assume I'm in the garage working because of the noise. They are correct about 90% of the time... Rick

My tumblers are in the garage too, and so are all my tumbled rocks. I wash and clean them in the backyard.

Three Lortone tumblers in the corner of the basement: QT6, 33B, and a 3A. The gentle rumble of the tumblers drowned out most of the chaos occurring on the other two floors. Or at least they provide plausible deniability such that I can pretend I can't hear the chaos. Same difference really. There's no clock down there. Time stands still. Ah... peaceful.
Hey deeptime, I'm guessing that you have tinnitus from all the rock and roll. I have a friend that has played sax in bar bands since high school. He has to keep a little fan running at night for white noise or the ringing in his ears drives him crazy and he can't sleep. I supposed the tumblers would provide the same function for you.

I got my tumbler on the balcony of my condo. No room inside to put it really...It's good on the balcony because I can't hear at all and there's a nice overhang from the balcony above mine, so it's pretty protected from the elements. All of my rough and materials are also out there.

Got my 45C and my UV-10 running in the basement with my grit and supplies neatly organized on one of the workbenches. In the garage I have 4 buckets & 3 bins full of rocks and have my WF and my Ameritool on a counter. I really like having the garage door open while I work, especially while it rains (which has been alot lately).

My husband and I are fulltime RVers so my tumbler is outside under the awning - so far seems to working well. Not a lot of room for other equipment but I'm new to all this so... I'm thinking about and looking for small portable equipment. KT

I've got my 2 QT66's, Qt33, and Model B in the utility room. Rough in totes in the carport, spare bedroom, and back yard. Rock garden in the front yard. So used to the sound of the tumblers, can't sleep when they're off! Just love that sound! BTW, been listening to British blues since junior high school in the late sixties. THAT is rock and roll!!! Dan.

My tumblers are running in the garage. I used to keep them on the cement floor but have them on a utility table. It saves me having to trip over them or hurt my back tending to them.
I too like the sound of the tumblers. They sound like it's raining outside when we are in the family room. It's a very calming noise to me. I don't like it when they are off. It feels weirdly quiet. Steve

My tumbler table is in the basement, next to the clothes dryer. I have some rocks, grits, etc. on top of the table, with the tumblers, and lots of other rocks, etc. under the table.
Both tumblers are Lortones. One machine has two parts; one part holds my 12# barrel. The other two 6# barrels. The other machine runs a 6# barrel that I use only for polish. I have them in an open shallow plastic box (designed to fit under a bed) to catch any spills.
