Well Tony and I were together and trying to wire wrap, so this is a combined effort, and I was a big help to him, I cut the wire, LOL!!! He came up with a new little twist for the bail on the groove wraps and I love it!! It hides the binding wires and I think adds a little pizzaz to the piece. What do you think? Blue Adventurine for Tony's Mom! Tony's Cab Side view Local PA citrine, for a woman at my work that had a kidney transplant, apparently citrine is good for the kidneys. She has been through a lot, so I hope she likes this. My cab! Seraphinite-Tony's cab This is for Mushy, Mrs. HPD!!! I must be crazy sending her a cab, but I won one of HPD's cab for guessing her nickname, so I wanted to thank her!! My cab. Enjoy!!! Amber

Yep! Great idea, I never thought those ends which I tried to hide could become a decorative ellement.
The Aventurine and the red brecciated are my favorites. Tough job indeed to make a cab for Mrs HPD, but this one will surely be enjoyed.

I have said it before and I will say it again. You two make a great team! Every one of these cabs look wonderful with the groove and the little loop looks very nice! Fran

Hey great job! This is how I do my bails on "normal" wire wraps. It looks nice I think.

OH I like! I'll probably have to flip that around to the back on mine though until I master the perfect little circle like that! Still - a great way to add a little something extra to the piece without getting too complicated.
Love the one you are sending to Mushy! Such a striking stone!

That's a great idea with the bail. I bet Tony's mom loved that blue aventurine and that citrine almost has the shape of a kidney. All that wraps and cabs are beautiful but that Seraphinite is my favorite.

I do that on most of my "normal" wraps as well, after seeing Shannon's backs. I love the addition to the groove wrap, though. It really streamlines the look of the wrap. (And I absolutely love the cab you're sending to Mrs. HPD!)

Looking good!
What gauge wire and what is the size of the groove?

John: The groove holds 20 gauge half round wire well, so it is that big, LOL!!!

I like the new bail (not sure I can do it though), and they all look great Amber. Super pictures by the way.

How do you get a groove in there? my saw blad is too wobbly to cut a straight line - any other methods to cut a groove? I don't have one of those glass sanders either....

The lady with the kidney transplant liked her cab, and you know today was the anniversary of her surgery!!! I was glad to give it to her, she thought it looked like a kidney too!!!! Making cabs for people is so fun, I will never be able to sell them, I would rather give them away!

Tweetie, Amber has a Gryphenette (sp?) that I got her for Christmas to cut the grooves. I've talked to people at shows who use a dremel with a diamond cutoff wheel but my hand would never be steady enough to do that.
