My CE is tracking @ 42.8 brm.
This is running both barrels full, of course.
These barrels are 13" circumference, and a combined weight of 6lbs. 5oz.
Is this sufficient for rounding stones?
What's your brm?

Greetings Ladies & gents, my 1.36kg (3lb) Beach tumbler with 11.43cm (4.5") diameter plastic barrels. 1x 0.68kg (1.5lb) barrel (empty) = 47RevolutionsPerMinute 1x 0.68kg (1.5lb) barrel 0.68kg (1.5lb) = 47RPM 1x 1.36kg (3lb) barrel (empty) = 47RPM 1x 1.36kg (3lb) barrel 1.36kg (3lb) = 47RPM 1x 1.36kg (3lb) barrel 1.70kg (3.74lb) = 47RPM 2x 0.68kg (1.5lb) barrels 1.81kg (4lb) = 46RPM Currently 1x 3lb barrel 1.97kg (4.34lb) = 46RPM. After rechecking the RPM over 5 minutes it is now 48RPM! -- I hail from (The Barony of Seabegs) Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire, U.K, where aliens sometimes come for a visit & about 4 miles west from this monstrosity! haha... I have a hodgepodge of 3 pounders from different decades and they all seem to turn at different speeds. I get good results and just let them be (after putting some hose around the shaft of a thumblers mod to speed it up from a snails pace). My large hex barrels run at about 20 RPM and they are happy. I found it difficult to get the speed right on. It's a little off depending on pulley, belt type, and hose diameter on the shafts. I keep a supply of smaller pulleys for the motor just in case I want to change the speed. Steve

Greetings "Deeptime" Ed: My name; look at signature below. On the 3rd polish batch 1.90kg (4lb 3oz) the unit started squeaking, so i oiled it & it was ok for 2 days, then started squeaking again, this time i cleaned out all old oily gunk out of the rollers & pulleys & re-oiled with fresh unused heavy duty engine oil, so that may be the reason for the increased RPM. The squeaking returned again, but this time i found that the drive belt was slipping, But what do you expect it's max recommended load is 1.36kg (3lb) & i am currently running it with 1.97kg (4.34lb), 0.60kg (1.32lb) over max load! MrP: Yes i have seen that list or similar during my travels across the Web! Rocklicker Steve: I know what you mean, the 1st two 3lb rotary tumbler i used, but never owned the 1st was in 1973 it was powered via 9volt DC transformer that was detachable via power jack socket underneath the inner leg opposite from the motor & pulley. In 1978 i discovered by accident that my high school had a similar, but older design with the same 9volt DC transformer that was wired directly in to the tumbler unit. Both units had an average of 15RPM, i believe the 1st two 3lb rotary tumblers were made by ML Beach Products (UK) as the basic design & construction is identical to my current high-speed 240volt AC 2008 model! In 1985 i discovered that the same 9volt DC transformer also powers the Atari 400/800 8-bit computers & most peripherals! -- I hail from (The Barony of Seabegs) Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire, U.K, where aliens sometimes come for a visit & about 4 miles west from this monstrosity!
