A while back I had done some tumbling grade lapis that I had gotten from Dad's Rock Shop and right at the end, all the edges turned white and would not polish. Well, I got fed up and just put them away. I finally pulled them out a few weeks ago and started them in the 500 grit again. That ran for 2 weeks and then in the 1000 for 10 days and after a good burnish, I ran them for 9 days in a combination of 2T Tin Oxide and 1/2 T of Aluminum Oxide. (This is in a 1 1/2 lb tumbler) and lots of pellets in each step! This is the result: Here are some close ups and I am sorry for the blurries that I always have on them. I guess I shake too much. I may have to wrap some of these! Fran

Wow Fran... those look so cool! Almost like odd shaped Earth's ( blue oceans, brown land, white clouds ). Second time was a charm, eh?

Congratulations Fran! Those are beautiful. It is no small feat to get a good tumble on lapis, and it looks like you mastered it! I'll be looking for your wire wrapped lapis Garry
