Thanks for the info. I've filed it away. I'll make sure I take my GPS with me.

Beautiful pictures of the scenery and man, I don't care how much my legs and arms would be shaking and aching, I would have gotten that big pet wood out of there too! Thanks for sharing your trip! Fran

Thanks for the directions rbush! We headed out to Green River Saturday morning and were very fortunate to have gotten out. Lots of RAIN And flash floods. The raods get so slimey, and gooey...almost impasseable due to the amount of rain. On our way out...I couldn't keep the Jeep steering straight....I felt like I was in a pinball machine. It didn't let up at all Saturday...so it was a wash-out. We headed down to Henry Mtns. area Sunday morning. It's closer than I expected...just over an hour. It was neat seeing some new country. This was the 1st time I had even been down in this area. We followed the copper creek trail....and came upon the same hills...(I believe) Hunted around for 4 or 5 hours....and nothing gets a good leg muscle workout as 3" of mud sticking to your shoes. The roads down here were just as messy...and so I didn't want to venture too far off the road. The clouds looked threatening most of the day...and I know what can happen. I found an area where the barite nodules were washing out of the Morrison Formation...but didn't find much Wood. Did find a cool little guy though to my suprise. We named him Hank...in honor of the town of Hanksville. Looking forward to another lengthier trip. So much area to explore...can't wait! Steve

Steve, you were right there! The bare hill with the big rocks in the right center of your picture is the one where we found alot of our best stuff. The one in my left hand came from the lower half of that hill. Of course, we drove around that catch basin on dry ground and didn't have to hike there with 3 inches of mud on our shoes. If we had, it would still have been there for you to find. ;D In fact, now that I look closer at the pic, the one on the ground underneath that one came from the same hill. The one in the other hand came from an area about 3-4 miles south of there, but I didn't get any GPS coordinates there.
