We left phx last thurs. afternoon on our way to see tony and buy some rock from him.
we made very good time, by friday we were getting close to where he lives. I seen the snow and thought OH NO, i hope its warm there. ;D I did bring my winter coat and pants, just incase.
heres a couple pics in nevada plus some beautiful waterfalls in idaho not too far over the border.
We arrived at tonys friday evening. They had some steaks and venison thawed out waiting to bbq. It was a great picnic and great tasting food. I don't like venison, and ralph never had it so he gave it a try and really didn't think it was too bad. I stuck with the beef.
After dinner we couldn't wait and had to go out and look at his rock pile...........piles.... I was shocked to see how much rock he has. I almost couldn't wait to dive in and start picking out what we wanted. But we waited until sat. morning.
Sunday we headed over to oregon and his claim. This was a beautiful area and a great day all around. The company and weather couldn't have been more perfect. I got pics of ralph rockhounding for the first time in his whole life. I'm not in any pics, as i was taking them all. Tony' claim is huge and these are some pics from various areas in it.
heres are haul from the claim.
on the way home tony took us past this house made out of pet. wood. Then another home around the corner, made from stone.
We wanted to go in the one homes backyard and dig around. ;D
Heres what we brought home from Tony's rock pile Slighty over a ton of rock. Whew we have lots of cutting to do. I'm sure you will all see the slabs. ;D
ty tony and chris for a wonderful, fun filled weekend. we had alot of fun and hope to be back again one day. now come on down to mesa..........
