Howdy!
I am new to this site and glad to be here. I've been reading around the place for a while looking to see if anyone fixes their rock tumbler lids when they wear out. I know I can buy new ones and I do buy them. I just want to see what other rock hounds do.
I found that by epoxying a tin soup can lid over the top of the lid with the hole in it, I can run another 4-6 batches before it wears out again.
If you repair lids or do anything to extend the life of your lid, please share your ideas with me!
Thanks!

I have not tried repairing any yet, but I do have one downsatirs right now that has a hole in the lid and rocks in the barrell.
I may just try the soup can. I'll likely need a small coffee can for my AR-6 (Thumler's nine pounder). Hmm....maybe a can lid and duct tape.
Good luck with your repairs, and let us know what worked for you.
One last issue. Welcome to the board!!!

When a Thumlers lid starts to thin out in the middle, build up a few layers of electrical tape on the inside. Check it when you re-charge the barrel, and just add more tape when needed. I got an extra 8 months on one lid, and a year on another – both running 60/90 all the time.

Tire patches work really well, I have fixed a couple of CE/lortone (same barrel) that way. Still tumbling since I did it at least 8 months ago.

Hey woodroce, there is another thread/post just a few down from this - WEIRD LID FAILURE - that addresses this same issue. Also just want to say WELCOME!
