Here goes with my second through fourth tries at wire wrapping and at making cabs. Each of these is one that I did myself. I know there are flaws so I won't be at all upset if someone gave me some constructive criticism. PLEASE!! Okay, the photos don't do these justice and are really linty but.... Moss agate in copper. Here is the back. Third try is a piece of pet. wood. Here's the back (this does need some work) Fourth try is a little moss agate teardrop that I made and liberally covered in copper. The front is lumpy so the back photo is tilted to the side. The back is not nearly as bulky as it appears in the photo. Okay, there they are. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Rebecca

You did a great job wrapping and it is obvious that you are not afraid to work that wire. You should post your cabs in the cab section before wrapping them. This way your great workmanship gets double exposure. I love mossy anything but in this group with the wire, my personal favorite is that pet wood. The swirls seem whimsical and happy.

O.K., here is my worth. The first moss is superb. Like the way you used prongs to hold it. Question:.....why do you use 3 bails? Second pet. wood. On the back, cut off the excess squigglies. Third: on the other moss, too much wire is taking away from your beautiful stone. For your 2,3 &4th, you have done an outstanding job. Some people like a lot of wire. I, personally, am a stone person. I like to see the stone. Ken P.S. What lint? All I see is Foo Foo hair. ;D ;D ;D

I think they are super, and the pet wood is so nice I like the back almost as much as the front. The first moss is really clean and simple, the last may be a little busy but it still looks nice, and you got lots of good practice making squiggleys!!! I cant wrap so I have to say they are super and for only 4 attempts? You will be a wrapping queen soon! Amber

Wow, nice work! I have yet a lot to learn on the wrapping. I can't get fancy, I seem to do better at keeping it simple. If was to pick a fave tho, it would be the first one. That is extra good I think. Thanks for showing them.

Very nice! Your cabs are lovely. I tend toward simplicity most of the time, but I do like your first and second wraps. The pet wood back could be cleaned up since no one should see it. Everyone does develop their own style and that's what makes this art so much fun! I look forward to seeing from "5" on! Susan

I like your wraps, forget simple, got a pretty stone give it a wonderful frame, a crown,Make it look like it was worth all the extra effort. make it stand out and say look at me. The back, I try to keep it smooth so it dosen't snag and if it flips it still looks nice. Nice job, you are already a wonderful wrapper. Donna

You are really starting out great! The only advise I would give is to tighten up your bindings (the second one looks a little loose) Although it is fun to see what you can do with a lot of wire, you don't really need to when you have such beautiful stones. Just keep playing with the wrapping and it gets better and better! Fran

Very nice! I really like the sculptural quality to the last oine. YOu'll want to work on the concentric ciircle end pieces to smooth them up ....then it will really sing. It is hard to get them right though. I still struggle with it. T

Thanks for the feedback. (Yes that IS some Foo Foo fur!) ;D I do three bails because that's how Randy's tutorial showed me however I can branch out here soon and try other ways of doing the bail. Both the little moss agate and the Pet. Wood are going to be birthday presents for my daughter. I hope she'll like them. Thanks again for looking and all your encouragement. Rebecca

Hi Rebecca-you are off to a great start! These are all very pretty, you did a great job on the cabs. I'm going to add a couple of more cents to Ken's cents! >I would use square wire for the wrap, 1/2 round only for the bindings for the security of the stone. > I like the prongs you've used on the first Mossy (beautiful cab!)-but to me, it looks like the stone could very easily slide out. >Scrolls and swirls are great, just be sure that they're "closed" so as not to catch on clothes.
All of these have a "fun, kinky" quality to them! Keep it up, and keep on posting.

The prongs are actually pretty secure so the moss agate isn't going anywhere. What do you mean by closed swirlies? Just make sure the end is tucked up inside the swirly? Later all, Rebecca

i like them all but i also agree that the last one is a little much... the stones are very sharp looking and it almost takes away from the wrap it self....but very good, i only hope my first wrapps turn out the well.

HA-yes, fun kinky style! LOL. by "closed swirls" I mean both tucked in, and complete circle-just picture wearing a sweater and how easily things catch on it. I made a pair of earrings with swirly's and my hair is constantly getting stuck in them. Tossed that design right out the window! I always wear what I make so I can see how it reacts to clothing. One Agate that I wrapped in GF and Sterling made a brown smudge on the cream colored sweater I wore it with. Never figured that one out-just tumbled it clean again.

Great job for a beginner! Great job on the cabs. I've only done two wire wraps myself, so I don't think I can add any more suggestions. I did wonder about the third bail, like Ken already mentioned - I haven't seen any of Randy's wraps with 3. Keep at it and thanks for posting!
