Does anyone have any info on the Raytech TV-5 Tumble-Vibe? It appears to be about the smallest and least expensive vibe I can find. Just wondering if anybody has or has had one, and what their experience with it was - good, bad, indifferent?

Wait to hear form the folks here who have one, but I am not sure about it> my friend had an old on. The plastic bowl does not hold up well, and the motion is not as good. For a bit more you can have a Lot-O. They are much easier and quieter.

Save up and get a UV-10, I have 2 of them and 1 TV-5. The bowls on the TV-5 are cheap and will wear out in a few months. Plus all plastic construction. You can't beat the action on a UV.

It does go through bowls quickly and it takes a lot of babysitting. I get good results with mine but would prefer a bigger one with a rubber bowl.

Never settle for anything less than what you really want or you'll never be happy. I always purchase each piece of equipment like it's the last one I plan on buying, even if it means saving my cash for a few months. The UV-10 is a great recommendation, it's the same one that I use and I love it! EDIT: Also, it took me more than 3 years to finally wear out the first bowl.

Tom, this is the vibe I have, it was a birthday gift. I can't offer any comparison values on it, as it's the first and only one I've ever owned. I did notice that the first time I used the vibe, the bowl got chewed up pretty good, had I not known better, I would have thought one of my dogs the culprit.. :nono: so I can see where the comments about the bowls wearing out quickly would probably be valid. The bowls are plastic and it's a tad noisy, but again, I don't know how loud other vibes are. I can offer that should I ever replace this vibe in the future, I'd likely go with the Lot-O which The Rock Shed sells.

I have a TV-5 and use it for 500-600, prepolish and polish stages only. I had the same experience with it the first time I used it- the interior looked like an abused piece of tupperware. It soon smoothed out again and is gradually thinning. The polish bowl is just fine, though, and the 600 doesn't seem to be wearing nearly as fast as with coarser grits. It doe a decent job when I use lots of small stuff and pellets. It's quick, too, though not as fast as a Lot-O. It's also half the price of a Lot-O double barrel, and you do need to fill the bowl for best efficiency, so a larger machine would be hard for me to use as I couldn't come up wioth enough stuff to fill it every time I wanted to run a load. So, if you are only doing small batches at a time, the TV5 is OK. New bowls run about $23 last time I bought one. The TV 5 keeps up with my Lortone QT12 and 33B and rebuilt Chicago electric twin barrel. I have built a 20 pounder that is languishing, incomplete, in the garage. I will need a bigger vibe soon, though. I think the Lot -O is the best deal from all accounts, though the price put me off at first. iGood luck!

i seen alotta stuff randy has done with the UV - 10 and in person at Kim's very nice polish don't know about the noise but Kim mounted a Lot-O double barrel which The Rock Shed sells on a couple cinder blocks to give it a good heavy base and i gotta say it was even quieter then a roller haha-- i got to do acouple batch's in it wile i was there and it does a very nice job also, best part is how quiet it is with the softer rubber bowls
