That chrysocolla is from Rodney and Jaime, right?
So, what's going in the vibe?

Umm, I would start with 120-220 grit on the chrysocola and cushioning from the start. If you have already started it, check it today and see what you have. It is a little touchy from what I have seen. Good luck with your vibe load! Fran

Oooo nice. I have in my vibe right now some chrysocolla that Jamie sent me. I started them out in the 15 lb. rotary mixed in with other tiny agates to get them going. After one week in 60/90 they had worn down to a little over half filled in the tumbler. Currently they are in the vibe with 120/220. They look excellent so far. After a couple of days it will be 400F, then the polish. Let's hope they come out looking shiny. How will you be doing yours? (When I was a kid there used to be these candies, I think gum, and they look a lot like these rocks. Anyone remember what they were, or called?)

Due to conditions beyond my control ... the vibe batch is on hold.
Now ... for the Chrysacolla ... I started it in the Lortone with 3 tablespoons of 60/90 and 3 tablespoons pellets. I Will check it later tonight to see how it is or not wearing down.
Oh .... the gum .... Gold Mine ... it came in a little canvas bag.

Due to conditions beyond my control ... the vibe batch is on hold. Run some preforms! "Chrysocolla" which contains a mix of materials often tends to undercut, so that's what you want to check for. Use a generous amount of plastic pellets or tile spacers.

Just checked the Chrysacolla batch and it appears to be doing well.
This is my first NON mixed batch for the rotary. It is strictly Chrysacolla.
However .... two things I noticed.
The water is like a red clay in color. If I had not put the batch together myself, I would think there was red jasper in there. But .... there is no red jasper. The second thing is, not a GREAT deal of mass has been lost in the two days, but I can see the difference.
The only thing I did with this batch is add a couple of teaspoons of water and two more tablespoons of pellets.
I will check it again Wednesday evening and hopefully this batch will be ready for 120/220.
OH ... and the blue color!!! Oh My God ... the blue in these is incredible!!!
