Stoner (Ed) sent me an absolutely gorgeous piece of Ocean Jasper. it was a thick slab and i should have cut it down a little before i attempted to cab it....but i didn't. whilst cabbing it, i started losing some of the orbicular features, starting to render it into a pretty boring piece of stone. i started feeling really bad about it, thinking, "..this isn't even going to turn into a high dome, it looks like a freaking turtle shell..." that is when the 60 watt bulb went off, so here is my little "cabosave". pleased to introduce Oscar Jericho Turtle: and here is his underbelly: i epoxied very small pieces of tumbled malachite and little seed beads for his eyes. he's actually quite sturdy for a fridge magnet, but i wouldn't give him to a household with small children as he still could smash, i suppose, and cause a choking hazard.... thanks for looking! KD

That's a great idea and fine execution. Did you use a rare earth magnet?
