I started cutting when I was 13, (about 30 years ago). Washed dishes in the evenings after school to buy a Pixie. Had Ebersole's in Wichita for rough. A lifelong love affair thus begun, I have always come back even after years of not cutting. These are old (and sold) and new. Landscape Montana Agate (ahhh...) The Feather Owyhee landscape. I called it "gone fishing". You can even see the reflections of the trees in the water of the opposite shore. You know why I love Montana Agate? I've found nice pieces while I was changing a tire. They often use alluvial gravels on the roads out West. Laguna. This one has banding with shadow, sagenite, black plumes, and clean druzy crystal center. Picture just never could live up to it. That's enough for now, I reckon. Thanks everyone for sharing your work, I get on every day when the kids are abed to check for new posts! Scott

Scott, Those are Drop-Dead gorgoues. I love the Themed ones...especially 'Gone Fishing'! I must say I'm lovin' that Laguna though. It has a little bit of everything going on. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to many, many more. Steve

Boy, Scott, some awesome cabs. Although all are spectacular, my favorites are the first three. I might add that they are aptly named. Just beautiful. I love it when new members are old pros!

Thanks to everybody for your kind words and encouragement. You know every piece you collect yourself is 'nicer' than the one you bought! I think the chunks I dug out of the muddy road in Wyoming are still in a bucket in the basement. But it surely lightened my heart to find them. I was thinking of starting a thread for landscape bed materials. I name them after the apartment complex or gas station or motel I find them at. I think pet shop finds would fit in there too!! What a great pursuit, huh? I can have fun in a scorching parking lot!!! Adios friends....and keep your eyes peeled.

I just turned a 12 year old onto cabbing and now he has his own machine and makes some very fine cabs so I can relate to your story. I'm hoping its a life long love for him too. That laguna has just about eveything in it, its my fav but those montana's are close.
