...seem to be dropping like flies- Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson both passing away within hours of one another. Sad day... well for some of us anyway.

Farrah Fawcett too? Damn! I just finished reading about Micheal Jackson. I wasn't exactly a fan, but still sad news.

Though I was not a big fan of M.J. either, I do feel sad about his passing. I liked Farrah, but Kate Jackson was my angel... I guess seeing these 70's icons leaving makes all of us that are middle aged sense our own mortality more keenly.

Loved Farrah and thought she was the most talented of the Angels but Jackie Smith did it for me as a young man. Both fine Texas gals too! MJ, well, liked a little of his music but characterwise he had some issues. I'd say maybe bad karma caught up with him and I don't think he's gonna be up there with the clouds and angels....Mel

At first I thought that you were kidding about MJ - I knew about Farrah but MJ I though was a joke - not to be saying something stupid but I did hear that he was looking for a reason to opt out of his next concert...
they say a heart attack - sounds unlikely - was he sick?

Michael Jackson was one heck of an entertainer. I think it's important that folks bear in mind that he had his day in court and was found innocent. He was a major superstar until the accusations started flying, and they destroyed him. He never did really bounce back. Also, something that few people know is that he had a house here in Pahrump, where he stayed occasionally. He was recently spotted in the local Walmart, too. Apparently he had heard that little boys' pants were half off. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) Sorry, Michael ... couldn't resist. Farrah, well, I never knew much about her, but she sure was a pretty lady, and she never seemed to attract the negative attention that most stars do. For a long time, I knew that she was battling cancer, and I felt bad for her. Hopefully she's in a better place now.

I thought Farrah's story was getting pretty sad when Ryan O'Neil announced that he'd finally marry her like last week was it?
I also had more or less given up on MJ for many of the reasons already mentioned, but this next tour- well not really a tour but a series of concerts, was going to mean a lot of revenue for my company (which we could really use right about now) and from all accounts it was going to be a really awesome show.
My guess was that the pre-production stress was just too much for a guy who had become weak in his isolation and just didn't have the physical or emotional foundation needed to stage this huge comeback.

I am so sad for Farrah! She was so beautiful, and I had my Charlie's Angel's dolls when I was young. MJ sure was talented, it is a shame with all that money and fame, that he couldn't find happiness. THey are saying he got a shot of demerol and gave him cardiac arrest, they said he has had a life long addiction to pain killers, sad at 50, he was scheduled to make that big 50 concert tour next year. And ED, I loved him too, lots of big stars passing! Makes you realize how important health is, the one thing that money can't buy!

They had to try Phil Spector twice before they found him guilty in spite of the fact he said " I think I shot someone". Just goes to show you what a little stupidity, fame and money can do to awestruck jurors. The sad truth is "justice" can be brought in this country and the rich and famous very rarely get punished. MJ is nothing but a little pervert who got what he deserved. God works in mysterious ways and justice was finally done.

I'll admit, I did like MJ. We're the same age and I began liking his music when he first started and I was in grade school. He was an incredible performer and his music will be remembered and played for years to come. He may or may not have done the things he was accused of. We will never know. What I do know is that I have seen people's lives torn apart from accusations that were totally untrue. I have seen it in my own profession, and once an accusation is made it is extremely difficult to live it down no matter how innocent one may be. I hope they were just that, accustions. If they were true shame on him, and if they were not, then shame on the accusers.
