I bought some Tiger Eye from the Rock Shed several weeks ago and I now have a nice amount to move to second stage, having spent several weeks in Coarse. I really love the way they look at this point, but am wondering if any of you have anything special you do with Tiger Eye to take it to the finished stage? It's such a gorgeous stone, I'd be very disappointed if I ruined it at this point.
TIA!!

In my experience, Tiger eye has proven itself to be one of the more forgiving stones to tumble, the only issue I've ever encountered showed that it can be "bruised" in later stages if you aren't using pellets, but I find it usually does very well without a lot of special treatment.

I've cabbed some and it sometimes breaks along the fiber looking lines. It is asbestos replaced by chalcedony so treat it like any agate. The cushioning would be a good idea to avoid fracturing.

Yep. Use lots of pellets and small filler stones in the final stages so the rocks don't knock together.....Mel

"Plastic" pellets. In my experience, tigereye likes to turn white on the edges if I don't use plastic pellets in the polish stage.

rallyrocks, John, Mel, and Randy, thank you so much for your advice and input! I feel more confident about moving along with this rock now. I have plenty of plastic pellets, so I'll be sure to cushion it very well. I'll post photos when they're finished.
