:help: OK, I have a 2nd bowl for the vibe. My question is - should I use that bowl for both pre-polish and final polish, or for final polish only? The 220 grit stage seems to be imbedding itself in the bowl's lining, and I'm a bit reluctant to use that same bowl for the pre-polish unless somebody says it'll work ok.
Thanks, Tom

The other bowl should be polish only, everything else is done in the grit bowl.

If I'm understanding right, I should use one bowl for everything except the final polish, then use the spare bowl for only the FINAL polish step, right? Tom

That's correct, final polish "and" final burnish after the polish. One more thing, the burnish (borax) stage before the polish stage should also be done in the grit bowl.

OK, thanks. That means that I'm at least on the right track. I did a Borax 2-hour vibe after the 220 that I ended today, and the 500 that I started after. Used a LOT less 500 grit on it (1.5 tbsp) and it's going gangbusters now. I figured out that I used way too much of the 220, and wound up with thick gray mud. Lots of water kept them churning, but still ..... Lesson learned.
