awesome workshop...loks better than my club's workshop! Got a question though..what is the device that is in the last picture before the slab pictures start? Looks like a gear puller!

Ralph makes those awesome cabs on the same GP6 that I have, finishing them in a vib?!?! Now I have to buy a damn vib.
Awesome workshop, btw. Mine looks just like that, only compressed into a 5'x10' area. Consequently, that makes it look like a big messy pile of boxes of rocks, mason jars, and tumblers on and under one old table.

Wow very nice shop! Got to say though, that there's another example of an unnaturally clean and organized work area *L*. Good golly, I'm a walking mess waiting to happen and your shop looks like you've got Mr. Clean as a shop mate.....Mel

you guys are so funny................ that was only one folgers, i have about 4 more lol All the shoe boxes on the shelves with the folgers can is turquoise, in every shape color etc. in the glass jars in auzzie opals that we don't work with. I just sell them at the shows.
Amber, i can't wait to see you also, time is flying by. I can tell you, you won't need a jacket . lol
Oh yes, i was gonna tell you about the gear puller thingy. When we went to tucson, there was a man selling these. They are caled "a gripper" and they come in small, med. and large. Ralph just had to have it. You put the smaller, round and other size rocks that don't fit well in the vise of your saws and it holds it tight. It was kinda expensive, but when i have to cut smaller rocks on the 18" it works out well. I forgot to say, you put the gripper in where you would put the rock in the vise, tighten it down and your good to go. I hope i explained it ok. I have to be somewhat organized when i have slabs listed everywhere. the shoe boxes under the counter by the drill press are just the ones on the website. The rest are on flickr on and off, and what we take to the show.
ty all very much, mary ann

Oh man, I dream of having a setup like that! I really like your usage of the plastic tubs as bin boxes. I am going to get me some of those also. Thanks for showing the pics!

The 'Gripper' in the photograph is a CRS Gripper. They are made in Vancouver, WA and are a wee bit pricey but you can lock a T egg in one, and it will not be moving, plus once in, you can turn in everywhich way to get the cut you want. I have no connection to this company, but I played with one at the Madras Pow Wow, and will be ordering one. The large is $230, the medium is $215, and the small is $160. telephone number is 360 693 1048 web is crs.gripper@yahoo.com
This is well engineered, and well made tool.
