I wasn't willing to give up something like my staff. but removed the feather and returned it to the nature center along with any other feathers, claws, and other items given to me while attending some of the many events the nature center held. So the bit about the owl flying across your path in broad daylight and dropping a feather at your feet was in fact poetic license, right?

Simply amazing!
The world around us has gone completely overboard and we just sat and watched it. Worse yet we’re still just sitting and allowing it to continue, some even encouraging it.
Whatever happened to common sense, no harm no foul, or the golden rule?
Do we not have enough serious concerns to occupy our little minds? We have young men and women in harm’s way fighting terrorism every day, some paying the ultimate price for our freedom and security. We have catastrophic natural events like floods, tornados, and hurricanes every year that kill or ruin the lives of thousands of Americans. And all over the country, in cities and communities like yours and mine we have home fires destroying life and thrusting homelessness and hardships on survivors.
Shouldn’t we focus on the more important things in life and channel any spare energy and resources we may have in that direction instead of worrying about somebody having a feather off a dead bird? If it’s a religious thing or a sin and he goes to hell, well that’s more severe than anything you or the law could do to him anyway.
I’m truly sorry if I have offended anyone but let’s go back to rockhounding and sharing the things we enjoy.
Garrett

I know...I'd like to see it, too. The photo has obviously been deleted.
