Howdy folks, Took a few pics the other day out along the horse path along the creek. Over the centuries, the creek has cut sort of half pipes from the Edwards Limestone along the creek and these cliffs form micro-environments which develop into hanging gardens of ferns, grass and flowers. This cliff had some very pretty mountain pinks in full bloom. Closer look: The lace cactus were also in bloom. These are very common around our lot and love limestone rock piles. My wife piled a couple of protective stones around this one so I don't hit it with my mower. The Queen butterflies are all out and about now too: This one's feeding on a Mexican Hat daisy: This big boy, a long horned beetle that only has a scientific name sounded like a buzz bomb flying by:

I love the cactus and its flower. They seem diametrically opposed but beautiful together.
