Howdy folks, Just three for today. I really need to replace my diamond sanding wheels as this freaking takes forever with worn wheels. Anyway, the pics, thanks for lookin....Mel All self collected; Left stone is Black Jade from Porterville, CA. Guy with an avocado ranch just dumped a ravine full of jade and thulite east of Porterville when he derocked his grove. This takes a real mirror polish but has a bit too much gray/green in it for me to say it's true black. Top stone is dendritic jade from the Janoko Jade mine. We only found a couple of pieces and it's fun to work but hard to get more than a real good satin finish because of the magnetite inclusions. Bottom right is Woodward ranch plume I cut from an end cap off a biscuit nodule. It started off a high dome and wound up thin as I encountered a quartz crystal vug which makes a slightly dull spot even in this thin cab. ![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b377/sabre52/DSCN4404.jpg)

That is great stuff Mel! It is amazing how folks just don't realize what they have when they just think it is "rocks". Fran

Nice set of cabs you've done. I like the jade the best. I find the green jade I have needs lots of heat to get a nice shine. Your jade cabs also looks like it has a nice shine on it. Good job!

Nice cabs, Mel! I like the shapes on the jades and love that kind of poached egg pattern on the Woodward. T

Nice stones, I know what you mean about the wheels. My sanding wheels are getting there and it's about time for a refurbishment.

These are beautiful. That dendric Jade is sweet and I like the different shade in the black jade even if it makes it not a completely Black Jade. The dark shade makes you want to look at it more.
