I came home from work and found the vibe vibrating and NOTHING inside moving at all!!
So .... I took it outside ... rinsed it off again .... started it again and it worked I think great .... for all of 30 seconds .... added 2 tablespoons grit ... and NOW .... it is not doing sh@@!
I am going to try to eat dinner and maybe sometime this year ... I can get the dam vibe to work ....

Do you see any moisture? Does it look dry? You're using 220 grit, right? Does it look like it needs a couple squirts of water to get moving?

Julie, how about this? Rinse the rock mix and put in the tumbler dripping wet. Fill to top. Turn it on. There should be nothing to keep it from rolling. Slowly sprinkle in one tablespoon 120/220 grit. If it slows spritz (one spritz at a time) until it rolls like it did before you added the grit. Check every 2-3 hours and spritz as needed. That tumbler is "4-6 lb." so it shouldn't need much grit.

2 tablespoons is what I use for my 10 pound vibe, I'm still thinking that you may have too much grit.

How about posting a picture? We might be able to see the reason.

Okay .... this is what I am going to do when I get home tonight.
I am gonna stop this batch ... Rinse everything off and run a good burnishing to get all/everything squeaky clean ... Then I am going to separate everything out into their correct and proper batch types ... I am going to try to saw anything else I can get my hands this weekend (which I do have a lot of raw rock) ... I need to place an order tomorrow with The Rock Shed for more 120/220 and pre-polish anyway ... I will fill the bowl up enough to choke a horse and I will then try again ...
I left for work this morning and it was moving or so slowly, but moving a little.
I have noticed one thing ... when I get the vibe going without the lid, it does move a little faster. When I put the lid on, it seems to slow down the batch.
As always .... no worries ... I guess I am a late bloomer

Keep in mind that the vibe does not do a great job on rough, at least not as great a job as a rotary would do. I normally have 2 15 lb rotaries going for rough shaping with 60/90. After a couple weeks of this, I start picking out rocks to go in the vibe at 120/220. When I'm rolling right, I can do a 10+lb vibe batch every week.

Okay ..... you know me .... I spout off and then I try again ...
So I could not wait until later.
I came home ... Filled it up with water, drained it, and started it back up.
It is rippin!!!!!!!!!!! Now ...
Following Johns instructions ...
I sprinkled (not a TABLESPOONS) 2 teaspoons and will leave it alone.
It is still moving at a pretty good clip .... so okay .... I got a goodie box today ..... so if you will excuse me for a bit .... I am gonna go dive into it. Thank You Fran!!!!
As always .... Julie

Started this little sucker up this morning and it was rippin!
Came home and it was running really slow. BUT ...
I opened it up and spritzed liberally and now it is almost back to rippin!!
I think since it is the first real first round of 120/220, I have the tickest portion of the batch. I will let it rip for a few more hours and then off before bed .... too dam noisy.
But I think that with all the patience I have received from you guys I am finally on the right track.
Thanks Guys ... Julie

Cool! Hey, vibe batches slowing down is perfectly normal. That's why we check them at least three times a day, especially during the 120/220 stage. My spray bottle is always full!
