Well I think after 8 roughs it's time to move on.I'm just not getting any further trying to get rid of bad spots so I desided to put ALL of the rocks into my vibe with 120/220.I started that yesterday at about 1 pm.

The following are photo's of the weight of ALL the rocks before and after the rotary roughing,,,,,,

So we started out with 3.68 pounds of rough and after roughing it 8 times in a rotary we ended up with only 1.87 lbs of roughed rocks,,,,,almost roughed rocks!

Thats a weight loss of 1.81 lbs which is VERY close to 1/2 the weight we started out with!

Who's a thunk it?

Wow... 8 rounds and half the weight! I was surprised there was such a little weight loss this time after a fairly significant one last round.

N'SRocks,
The father along you get with roughing a load the less the weight loss becomes.
A lot of the crap that's on the rough is gone in mostly the first rough but a little more in the 2nd and so on.As the rocks get smoother the grit slides off of them more easily and the "action" of the rocks isn't as "violent" as in the first few roughs.
It becomes more of a "cushioned" action.

Gee thanks for my first cheering section!

I'm glad someone is learning from this.There were a few days that I wasn't up to par and didn't want to go through the riggers of washing and separating the comp. rough from the filler white quartz but I KNEW I HAD to do it so someone who was learning from all of this would have the real thing and not something hacked up.

That being said

I didn't weigh or take photo's of the rocks after the first 24 hrs in my vibe.

I was soooooooooooooo busy yesterday and had some odd stomach problems which cause me to be as busy as a whistling cross country runner as I made my "runs" back and forth to the terlet!

If that wasn't bad enough last night I got a call at about 8:30pm from my son who was flying back home from his sons b'ball tournament down in Charlotte NC. (we live in CT).
He asked me to pick him at the airport down in NY at,,,,,,are ya ready???

11:00pm! I'm in bed at 9 every night!!!!
Of course I sad yes but little did Iknow what I was in for.
To make a very long story short I didn't get home till 3:15am this morning!!!
I don't know why but I got up at 5am and WOW am I ever foggy this morning!

It gets better though,,,,,

Being that when one gets a tad on in years one MUST "relieve" him/herself about 4 seconds before one finds out one must relieve him/herself!!!

Well I didn't find out that I put my boxer shorts on backward until the "relieve" thing came up and,,,,,,

Yup you guessed it,,,,,,,,,,,,,Not enough time to ,,,,,,,well I think you get the picture?

So after my "accident" I went upstairs ,took a shower and here I am all freshened up for another glorious day in Tom's life of getting old!! ;D

Sooooooo I may or may not take photo's today!!!

I hope this is explanation enough to let you know why I didn't take the photo's yesterday,,,,,,,,,,

If not I can give you the long version with all the little "descriptives"!!! ;D

It's interesting for me as well.I've never kept a photo record of the process or ever weighed the rocks as I've done here.

It amazed me that the rocks have already lost 1/2 their original weight!

I don't think I've ever wanted to finish a load more then this one since my first ever.
Going from the rotary to the vibe demands a lot more attention but it also gets into areas of the rocks the rotary just can't get to.
