In the interest of fun, frivolity, laughter, snickers, and uh oh I think I wet my pants ... I am putting up 2 batches of finished Picture & Red Jaspers as prize. What is seen here will be split in two for the winners. What am I (ooops ... we are) looking for? Thank you for asking ... I am looking for anyone and everyone to create a graphic/logo for the Flying Monkey Jewels (name). This name and its associated graphic/logo will be solely the property of The Rock Tumbling Hobby Group. Ya, ya .... I know .... there is always gonna some jackass that lurks and scoffs at us .... but hey ... it is all in the name of fun and laughter. I would like to have the following people as judges. These individuals would not be able to participate in the competition and are willing to set aside all preconceived ideas or notions as to what a Flying Monkey Nut (sorry ..... jewel) should look like. ;D Weeshan Adrian (yep ... big kahuna) Mark (yes ... I want another big kahuna here!) Frane SitNWrap MichaelJohn If for any reason any of the above want out of judging so they can play ... it's all good ... just let me know. When someone, anyone has a graphic/logo ... please PM the judges. Please wait until the final judge list is released for the competition to officially begin. If there are individuals that want to judge, PM me and let me know. I think that it is a good idea to limit this competition to 5 judges. Here are the goodies!!      |

So as to not drag this out .... all judges listed or corrected will be official as of Friday evening, July 24, 2009.
The final list of judges will be made Friday evening, July 24, 2009 by 8:00 pm PST.
Once the final list of judges is posted ... let the games begin.
Since we are dealing with graphics (hopefully) and/or great effects .... this competition will run until Friday evening, July 31, 2009 at midnight PST.
If by some fluke ... there is an abundance of response ... the competition will be extended to Friday, August 7, 2009.
Let's have some fun!!!!!!!!!!

Julie, thank you for the honor of including me into the jury. I only would like to remind you that after Aug 5th I will be less active on the board (in vacation). If this is OK to you, I will accept gladly. It sounds like a very funny and original contest.

Julie: I am not creative enough to do photoshop, but couldn't let this pass, so here are some of my favorite monkeys!!! These guys sure know how to party!  And for the king of monkey jewels! Karen ... I suppose I mean .... at the end .... is this something that we would be proud of, be able to laugh at and understand why, and to share with anyone without being embarrassed for any reason. For the most part .... sky's the limit!
With all of the wonderful, funny, and very creative ones here I am sure they will come up with something very edgy, slightly dirty, but overall hysterical.
I do not know ... there are going to be very few if any limits or criteria.
Hopefully ... once this is finished ... wouldn't be a rip if all of a sudden we found the logo and name flying around the world on the Net!

Amber .... I was just thinking .... based on your input about PhotoShop.
I would think that the graphic/logo would not have to be computer generated.
For those of us (moi) that do not have the PhotoShop experience would trying drawing, snap some pictures and post those.
The details are not complete yet. But ... I would love to see as many members involved in this as this is for and about the members, for RTH.
