Here's some miscellaneous pieces that came from my latest batch. Some brecciated jasper plus a few odds and ends that got misplaced from other batches somewhere along the way, or had chips or hazing or something that made me want to have another go at them. -Don I wish I could remember the name of this stuff. Maybe Mel can help? It is some kind of California brecciated jasper. I got a chunk of it on ebay, kind of reminds me of Stone Canyon jasper, but red. Anyway, I really like the patterns but it is a bit crumbly and pitted so isn't the greatest material for tumbling. Works okay though. Stone Canyon jasper: A couple of Condor agates. The writing on the bottom of one agate is a reflection from the Becel margarine tub I was using to brace the camera against: Unknown moss agate... Canadian River plume?: Piece of plume agate from Wyoming: Rutilated quartz. The red streaks are a reflection off my red t-shirt, bad shirt choice for photography! ;D:

Don: That appears to be Squires Ranch Brecciated Jasper from over towards Coalinga which is east of Stone Canyon but very similar stuff comes from Creston, Stoney Creek, Inyokern and Pope Valley in California (all outcrops of the same Franciscan deposits). There's even a little of the red at Stone Canyon and the creek near there at Parkfield .....Mel

Those look great and you did a fantastic job with the photography. Sometimes those reflections can be very interesting and add to the presentation!
Don, I sure hope you have fast charging batteries, cause we need more posts like these last ones. Looking forward to your next ones soon!

 Oh my! Another beautiful group! You are amazing at tumbling! Do you use a rotary all the way through or a vibe? Fran

The jasper and agate is beautiful, but there's something about that rutilated quartz that really picks my attention! Thanks for sharing.

NICE! I love the colors in the Condor Agates, and I LOVE the rutilated quartz! You really brought out the best in these stones!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!
Mel, thanks for the i.d. -- you are a walking rock encyclopedia!
Frane, I use a rotary all the way through, 6 lb barrels. I have an older Lortone that turns a bit slower than "normal" (I think it turns about 25 rpm), so that gives a bit gentler action. I use it for all stages after 60/90.
