I am starting to feel like a human cabbing machine! I have been so busy with the new job, and life and trying to get ready for the big trip, that I am trying to turn these suckers for gifts out quickly! Tony worked with me a little on Sunday to show me ways to get a better girdle and dome, and I am really proud of these cabs, some of the better ones I have made in some time. It is like golf you can easily get used to a poor swing, and poor cabbing techniques! Petrified Burl Wood Wyoming Petrified Opalized Wood-from Wyobrian Mariposite Bruneau-for Chrisperez! I made him a boulder opal, which Tony proceeded to drop on the floor and break, ughghg! Tiffany Stone-slab from KD-THANK YOU! I have spent a lot of money on tiffany stone rough to be sadly disappointed! I was making this for someone but I love it and I am keeping it! AZ Pet Wood?-This was from Beef, there is a thin line of druzy, now I am not sure what it is? These and some of the last batch you may have noticed a similar shape, these are for a special project I am making for the peeps out West, these are larger, like almost 3 inches. They are suppose to be the exact same shape, but you know how that goes This was a slab from Jo, local PA, Joanginite Green -Got this at a show and I love it, maybe Mel can ID it? It is shiny right fromt he start and cabbed beautifully! So on top of everything, I had the new Lot O running for exactly 1 week and the motor blew! Sean at the Rock Shed said people have been having difficulty with that, so now I have a bunch of half finished agates, ughghghghghg! Amber

Amber, I think this is some of your best cabs yet! Great shapes, fine shine and awesome material. You are doing a FANTASTIC JOB!!!! I don't blame you for wanting to keep the T-Stone for yourself. You deserve that! Steve

Nice set Amber, your cabs are looking really good. I think the last one may be Onyx. Dan

Those look great! Once you get some of that good muscle memory in your hands the only thing that can stop you is a sore back and tired eyes (and even those seem to dissappear when your stone starts to look better than you expected)!

Amber, you are right to be proud of them! Both of the pet woods are my favorites, together withy the Bruneau. That one is hard not to try as a caramel candy.

Yep...I knew that job was good for you. Don't have the time to mess around now so you go right to good technique and concentrate. And you get a nice refined look to some fine material with great shapes. Hmmmm.... I did notice you didn't mention my name on those gift cabs....that isn't MY Tiffany, is it T

The whole lot looks great! The Tiffany is just plain special. The colours are quite subtle, but there is a lot going on in that stone. Woody

Thanks guys! I am back to not dopping, LOL! My edges were always uneven since I wasn't holding it totally square against the wheels, and then I would go to town and mess up the girdles I was always getting a big flat in the middle, finally after I year, I realized if I go a little slower I spend way less time in total, than trying to fix all the mistakes later! LOL I also don't have a lot of engineer in me, and Tony is always talking angle degrees, I finally shut up and watched him! LOL T-I will make you a tiffany stone, but this one is MINE!!!!! Those darn cabs always fall over when I try to take pics, so I am always touching them and leaving fingerprints, love all the DNA I leave behind, LOL! I hope Chris doesn't run them through the FBI< LOL Now I have to talk someone in to groove wrapping some of these! Nate- I will never catch Randy, he is the cutting, slabbing, cabbing, wrapping machine! Amber

Those are all outstanding. It's official. You're not allowed to be modest anymore. Just post 'em HPD style with your refreshment of choice in the background for scale.

You have been cabbing up a storm haven't you. You need to slow down so you don't wear your fingers out before your big trip. Make sure Tony gives you some material I sent him for using your machine.

10Thumbs, it is usually my cigar of choice, versus a beverage! LOL, that is why Tony commented on me using 2 hands, usually I do it left handed so I can puff my stoogie! I was thinking that using my left hand I wouldn't push so hard on the stones!
My cabs are from from perfect, but when some turn out especially nice it gives you motivation to keep going!
