I had this sent to me and thought I would share.
A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS
My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
Give me time to understand what you want from me.
Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.
Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
Be aware that, however you treat me, I will never forget it.
Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not too.
Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me,Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.
PLEASE take care of me when I grow old. You too will grow old...
On the ultimate difficult journey, please be with me. Never say you cant bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.
Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.
We do not have to wait for Heaven to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness it is here on earth and has four legs!

Boy is that true. That first line is such an important one. I have to tell you, our dog Lacy took over nine months to house break her. We have a policy that if we bring an animal in, it's for life but Lacy was really testing that one. We are so glad we did not quit on her because she never ever quits on us.

Rules for dogs and cats: Dogs have a master and it is you. Cats have a master and it isnt you. Bob

that one gets me the worse -- iv seen dogs in heat and cold and pourin rain outside and there lucky to get fed everyday let alone get a good scratch behind the ears and some soothing words from there owners,, now i want to get a dog just so atleast one wont go through that haha -- theres people that pass through the rv park here with big dogs and they pull in chain them to there rv and they stay there till they leave and i feel bad for the dogs there never let in the rv -- when the sun is killer there hiding under the rv for shade when there owners should be lettin them in the air condition inside -- why have them if they arent aloud to come sit with you and watch tv and get cooled off like part of the family
