Greetings Dermot, No for the following reasons:
1: The Beach 1.36kg (3lb) rotary unit is ok & gives a maximum barrel capacity of 17.5cm (6.88")
with a maximum gross weight of 1.85kg (4.10lb) anymore leads to belt slippage,
go for the 1 X 1.36kg (3lb) barrel (Creetown rock museum; look at your 1st thread),
but since you are only 36miles away from them, i would go see them in person,
if you have wheels or if public transport is available.
2: 150g (5.29oz) of SiC grits is NOT enough, F80 alone with my recipe's would only last 1 + 1
recharge on Moh's 7.0 (Quartz) my last run was in the 1st stage F80 for 13 batches every 5 days,
since mid April (24hours a day / 7 days a week).
3: 100g (3.52oz) of Ce-Ox; i do not know why virtually all UK vendors sell this crap
as it only works on selected stones & it is not worth the extra safety handling procedures
as if it get in to the body you must seek medical attention & it can lead to awful
respiratory deceases, unlike Alu-ox, Ti-Ox or SiC which are nothing more than a irritant & are mundane.
4: Mixed rock pack, see my threads.
My first tumble.
Gemstones & minerals found in the United Kingdom.
How to identify rocks & minerals!5: The 1.5 & 3lb extra Barrels go to Jewson's (Builder's merchants) & get barrels cut & sanded
flush with pipe caps for peanuts, just take your existing barrel with you 0.68kg (1.5lb)
= 7.5cm (2.95"), 1.36kg (3lb) = 15cm (5.90"), they sell the 11.43cm (4.5") bore drainage pipe
by the metre (3ft), branches near you are Ayr, Newton Stewart, Prestwick or Stranraer U.K.
6: Finally ignore the tumbling recipes supplied as they are useless!
The only things i would buy from "www.stonepolishing.co.uk" again is (SiC F400 & F600) & Ti-Ox!
I will try and upload a video of my Evans rubber, 1.36kg (3lb) & both 0.68kg (1.5lb) plastic barrels running thus you can hear the difference later today on my 1.36kg (3lb) Beach rotary tumbler!
