Dang, Julie, you have some really pretty stones in that batch. In pictures 17 & 18 in this thread, is that some kind of chrysocolla, or what? It is gorgeous. And in 19, what is the creamy stone next to the red one? Smoky quartz, maybe? It looks like nearly all your quartz varieties turned out beautifully. And in picture 13, what are those 2 pieces with the spots that look like maybe little bitty fossils of some sort? Are those an agate of some kind?
I liking this batch! And I being jealous! I haven't been able to finish anything as nice as that yet.

Julie - you sure have an AMAZING variety in there (and I haven't looked at all the pictures yet). I was going to ask if that was turritella agate (spelling?) - which several people identified for me a week or so ago when I posted pictures in the fossil section (some rocks I got from a yard sale). Anyway, if mine would turn out anywhere as good as yours, I'd better get to sawing them! Barb

Hey Julie. You have some very nice stuff there. I like the turritella agate best. I have a brick size piece of that in my slab-saw-required box. Your tigers eye turned out exactly like mine when I did a big mixed batch. Nice faces but white edges. I guess it's just a shade softer than the average jasper or agate. I re-tumbled them with softer stones and saw some improvement.

Thanks for the pictures. I always learn a lot from them. Love the color and variety.

Very cool! The red and green one in pic #17 and #18 is so pretty! What is it?

I suspect the red and green are fancy jasper/red green jasper or even bloodstone. Looks like they shined up really nicely but it is a bugger to keep from chipping sometimes. The woods are also dificult about fracture lines. Looks like you have some really neat ones there! Fran

I would second that, the red and green is fancy jasper. I personally liked the tigereye in pic # 4,5.
